It's always worth a shot. One other thing that annoys me. Service intervals...

When you change the travel, make sure you refill the lowers with the right amount of fluid as Fox are almost always underfilled to save money but this causes premature wear and worse performance.

Hope you enjoy them, though

They're stiff and really confidence inspiring but they're not the best I've ridden. They're not mind blowing on small hits (and that's with the low friction seals), and if you hit a rough section (proper rocks) pretty fast then they can lose their composure. Also, with my weight I can never get through that last inch of travel, no matter how hard I try. I don't get why everybody is obsessed with Fox tbh. My next set of forks will either by some of the new Zocchi 55s or Bos Devilles.

Oh, I have been riding. Dirt jumping on a 160mm full sus (bloody hard work!) and then I spent some time drifting a quad bike around. Big Grin

Cwmcarn. You fly off the bridge near the bottom of the track and then into this massive berm (about 8ft high). I think I over shot it just a bit too far (understatement) and I didn't have time to set for the berm and lost control. Cue me flying about 8ft up and travelling about 10ft at 20+mph... onto my head. I was lucky and landed in the soft bracken and bushes at the back of the berm. It could have been a lot worse.

Sounds good but tbf I think any wheel would go if a 13 stone person cases Ski on a hardtail. lol

How did you come up short though? You can roll from the corner and still piss it or pedal and stay low. Or did you just take a different line into it entirely? At least it wasn't a half-hearted attempt at destroying it! lol

That is quite impressive! I played a game of 'who can clear Ski with the shortest run up' before and all went fine until I smashed the back wheel on the log. I came off better than you though, just a very slight wobble in the wheel lol

A Minion DHF single ply 2.5, good pedals, helitape and spare brake pads have been ordered.

Surprisingly, it climbs very well and not surprisingly it descends really, really well. I think I'm used to the way it sinks into the corners and that pedaling out the saddle wastes a lot of energy now.

The new Spesh tyres that look like Minions are a good bet if they bring them into the UK. Fingers crossed because they're bigger volume, tubeless ready and cheaper for about the same weight.

I'm going to change to a double with TA Specialites chainrings 38/24T, stick a medium cage SRAM X7/X9 rear mech on, new KMC X9L chain on as I'll need a new one by the time I've got the money together anyway and I'll run an e Thirteen Heim 2 chainguide with bash. I'm sick of dropping the chain on every run no matter what gear combination I leave it in. I've been thinking aobut a double for a while anyway, it should be good.

They're 745mm. Sunline V One OS 745mm Width with a 19mm Rise in blue. I'm really loving the wide bars for the DH track even if they're a PITA for the tight, twisty singletrack.
